Synopsis (english / deutsch / français):

We all have two sides. But if even the tiniest scare splits someone into a timid skin on the one hand and an overconfident skeleton on the other, that person has a lot of work ahead to bring their characteristics back into harmony again.

Wir alle haben zwei Seiten. Doch wenn einer beim kleinsten Schreck in eine schüchterne Haut und ein übermütiges Skelett zerfällt, muss er sich schon ins Zeug legen, um seine Charaktereigenschaften wieder in Einklang zu bringen.

Nous avons tous deux côtés. Mais si même la plus petite frayeur divise quelqu'un en une peau timide d'une part et un squelette trop confiant d'autre part, cette personne a beaucoup de travail devant elle pour ramener ses caractéristiques à l'harmonie.

Erklärung des Autors (Director's statement deutsch)

Bedingt durch Schlafstörungen gab es eine Zeit, in der ich mich manchmal fühlte, ich sei als zwei unterschiedliche Personen unterwegs. Die eine Person ist eine Art Skelett, nackt mit Sehnen und mit fahrigen, unkontrollierbaren Bewegungen. Parallel dazu, mit einem Abstand von vielleicht 65 cm, geht synchron doch mit etwas Verzögerung eine träge Haut, die an einen nassen Bodenlappen erinnert.

Die bildliche Vorstellung, sich als zwei Figuren aus unterschiedlichen Körperbestandteilen durch die Gegend zu schleppen, zwei Figuren deren Wunsch es ist sich wieder zu einem ganzen Menschen zusammenzusetzen, hatte mich zwar anfänglich irritiert und angenehm gegruselt, aber auch fasziniert.

Ich entwickelte die beiden Charaktere Skelett und ‚Haut‘. Die beiden Körper differenzieren sich in ihrer Materialität und erhalten dadurch neue Fähigkeiten und Möglichkeiten. Sie können Hindernisse überwinden, die für einen Menschen nicht zu bewältigen wären. Aber sie sind auch abhängig voneinander und müssen immer wieder zueinander finden. Dabei kommen ihnen ihre unterschiedlichen Charakterzüge in die Quere. Dies bildet die Ausgangslage für eine abenteuerliche Geschichte, welche über ein Nacherzählen meiner persönlicher Gefühle hinausreicht.

Director's statement

Due to a sleep disorder, there was a time when I felt like I was two different people moving through life. One person was a sort of skeleton who was naked with exposed tendons and had erratic, uncontrollable movements. In parallel, there was another person, who reminded me of a wet washing up cloth, moving synchronously but with a little distance and a bit of a delay.

I became both irritated and pleasantly creeped out by the idea of a person who is made up of two very different types of figures. Two figures who wish to join together to become a whole person again. The ways that the two figures are materially different give them special skills to overcome obstacles that the other one cannot. Yet, they are dependent on one another. Naturally, conflicts arise because of their different personality and body types. The challenge of dealing with this duo builds the basis of an adventure story that moves beyond a personal story.
